We want creatives to get better jobs, opportunities, network with each other and empower themselves to live a full, rich life that’s flexible, creative and earns them a paycheck

Q: WHO IS LINA ESA IN HER OWN WORDS? A: I’m, proudly, the Chief Talent Officer and Co-Founder of Cult Creative — we are a career discovery and professional networking platform for South East Asian creatives. My co-founders Shermaine Wong and the late Manisha Jagan, and I came together in 2020 to kickstart this idea. We built this community of 10,000 creatives from nothing but an idea. We want creatives to get better jobs, opportunities, network with each other and empower themselves to live a full, rich life that’s flexible, creative and earns them a paycheck.I also have a son and +1 on the way, and I love the idea of being a parent. I love being at home and I love being with my family.
Q: WORDS TO DESCRIBE LINA ESA A: I’m really THAT person. I can’t think of any because I don’t believe in labels! Ultimately I think I want to be that SAFE woman where people don’t think I’m out to get their man/their job. It’s usually the case that I have no hidden agenda. And I hope that any learnings or wisdom I have can be channelled through me. Not through my own wisdom but things I find and read. I do want women to feel EMPOWERED by that.

“WHAT IS MEANT FOR YOU, WILL REACH YOU EVEN IF IT IS BENEATH TWO MOUNTAINS”

Q: WHAT'S A QUOTE YOU LIVE BY A: “What is meant for you, will reach you even if it is beneath two mountains. What is not meant for you won’t reach you even if it is between your two lips.” There is comfort in knowing that the Higher Power has plans for you that’s beyond your wildest thoughts. So, we can live and let God. Q: LINA ESA AS A SWEET TREAT A: Tepung pelita is my favourite so I’m going with that. It’s that juxtaposition of the sweet pandan against the salty, creamy coconut. I think I CAN be sweet, mixed in with a salty side Q: WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR A: Purple
