Amy is not your average 20+ year old. She's a true blue go-getter. She grew up with an obsession for shoes, particularly heels, so she founded the super cool shoe brand Machino, with her sister, Esther!
Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Amy and I own a shoe brand called Machino with my sister Esther.
What does Machino mean to you?
Machino is like a firstborn child to me. Also fun fact, there’s a meaning behind our brand name which is MA - Malay, CH - Chinese, IN - Indian, O - Others, can’t forget about our Borneo sisters and brothers.
What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about all things creative. regardless if it’s through art, fashion, people. I’m really happy to see that we have a lot of different platforms right now to shine a light on our local creatives.
What do you usually do to stimulate your creative juice?
Pinterest, super basic I know but that’s how I keep the juice flowing & get inspired.
What part of you that you are most proud of?
I would say my work at Machino is what I’m most proud of. When we first started, we had no industrial experience. Just the support from friends and family. Fast forward to 1 year later, we have created a supportive community and we are forever grateful to be given this opportunity.
What are some of the positive changes that you try to implement this year?
