Video Editor (part-time)
ABOUT THIS POSITION
Whimsigirl is looking for a freelance creative Video Editor to join the team. The Video Editor will be an important member of the Creative team working on a variety of projects for all marketing channels - from capturing product imagery to GIF creation, to video editing for content across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram; this position is perfect for someone with experience creating online content looking for a new challenge in the fashion & lifestyle industry. This fast-paced and creative role will bring social ideas to life.
Projects will include – but not limited to – both short & long scale pieces (30secs to 5 mins), social media sizzles and promotions, cutting short scale clips, and utilising a mix of footage for social media and advertising purposes.
GOALS & FOCUS
Produce and design compelling and creative videos for Whimsigirl’s digital platforms including editing of raw footages from shoots into edits for Instagram, YouTube, and website.
YOUR ROLE AT WHIMSIGIRL
Establish a clear understanding of the storyline and purpose of the video's creation
Create an initial proposed storyboard when necessary
Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry’s best practices to maximize efficiency
Manipulating video footage in a way that conveys the intended message to the target audience
Managing video editing workload, juggling several projects at one time with short- and long-term deadlines.
Inserting subtitles, sound effects, music, graphics, and special effects
Managing the footage folders
Manage all video briefs and work closely with video creators and production houses
Flexible — able to support Whimsigirl with a “no task is too small” attitude.

TECHNICAL STUFF, BUT IMPORTANT
Successful experience editing videos for brands. Ideally fashion and/or lifestyle industry experience.
Advanced video editing skills
Passionate in creating ground-breaking, imaginative and surprising content
Strong understanding and ability to use Adobe software (specifically Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects)
Excellent communication skills are required to have a solid understanding of project scope and implementation
Can turn around tasks quickly and effectively whilst making sure to stick to the brief
A detailed understanding of what works on social media and an understanding of current trends in this area
A team-player, equally able to work independently.
Strong visual & verbal communication skills within the team
Ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
